Suhaimi’s “Bed & Breakfast”

Suhaimi welcomes you to Amsterdam

Sometimes you would maybe rather not stay in a hotel but prefer the comfort, the friendliness and the warmth of staying in a nice room in a private apartment. Especially when one of the residents of the apartment is a Malay fellow who has now lived almost ten years in Amsterdam. Our apartment has two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and of course bathroom with shower and as is common in Europe a separate toilet. The guest bedroom is a comfortable 14 sq meters with two large windows giving it nice light. There are two twin beds (that can be put next to each other making a queen size bed if so desired), a desk, book cases, closet space for your things and for the modern traveler wifi.

If you are on a long holiday we also have a washer and dryer you can use to do your laundry. We of course know the city well and can advise on things to do, help with directions and have tourist maps and general and transport information for you. In some cases, we can also take you on guided tours outside the city to places you may otherwise not get to see or in the summer we can sometimes offer a private tour of the city’s famous canals by small motor sloop. In other words, pretty much everything is possible.

The apartment is located in one of Amsterdam’s most convenient residential areas so you also get to see how the Dutch live. It is well situated to visit the city sights (canal district, Rembrandt Sq, Leidse Sq, Dam Sq, Museum district). Some of our guests are accustomed on nice days to the easy 20 – 25 minute walk to many places and others use one of the two tram lines that are right in front of the apartment for the 10 – 15 minute journey to almost anywhere you would want to go. The airport and train station are easy to get to and we are a ten minute walk from the world famous Albert Cuyp outdoor daily market. Within two minutes walking are various coffee bars and cafes, places to eat, every kind of shop, a halal shop and butcher, two supermarkets and an excellent inexpensive halal Indonesian take-out restaurant. So we are particularly well-suited for the halal traveler including the fact that our home never has pork in it.

Often times we and/or the guests cook and we eat together

The normal charge for staying is €120 – €140 per night for one or two people depending on the season and time of year (oh yeah, we are a few minutes from the Amsterdam RAI convention center so if you need to be in Amsterdam for something like that we have a very good location).

We hope to welcome you one day to our wonderful city and friendly home. Let us know if you have any questions or special requests and we see what we can do.

PS: We have two cute and friendly cats so if you have cat allergy it may not be so suitable
